The winner is ...

In December 2016 more than one hundred architect’s offices submitted their proposals for a new Viking Age Museum here at Bygdøy. The winners of the competition are:

Statsbygg, the Norwegian government's key advisor in property development, is responsible for planning the new museum on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Research. Today’s Viking Ship Museum will have a prominent place in the overall design of the new museum. The new museum will ensure that the unique archaeological finds will be preserved for coming generations. Future exhibitions will be based on these unique collections and innovative Research.
