Current project:

My aim during the project is

• to produce two collections of oral stories (in addition to Pileni texts): Texts from Vaeakau and Texts from Taumako.
• to write a reference grammar of Pileni
• to produce a short dictionary of Pileni
• to study the history of the Pileni language and its relationship to the Äiwo language and the language contact between the two communities
• to study the history and origin of the Äiwo language
• to write on the request of the local communities a school book for the schools in Vaeakau and Taumako to teach the children to read and write their mother tongue, and to help the Äiwo community with editing and publishing a collection of psalms in Äiwo
