9. november 2011 - Kl. 15.00! Dr. Sheila Coulson, IAKH, UiO: Research Highlights from Investigations in the Stone Age of Botswana. Abstract: Having spent over a decade conducting fieldwork and research in Southern Africa a number of results are particularly outstanding - some for the right reasons, others because they so aptly demonstrate that occasionally sheer dumb luck plays a role in archaeological discovery. In this lecture I will present how three such instances have helped shape ongoing investigations into the Stone Age of Botswana. The intent is to demonstrate why the Norwegian Programme that generously provided long-term funding for these studies emphasized the obvious connection between Norwegian and Botswanan research aims - a goal I first considered to be tenuous, at best.
