The Viking ships at The Viking Ship Museum were all found as parts of grand burial mounds for wealthy Vikings. The ships seem to have been an important part of the graves they were found in, but why were they there? Did they have a specific purpose, and if so what was it?

On Sunday April 9th one of the The Viking Ship Museum’s archaeologists will try to shed some light on this mysterious practice in a guided tour around the museum.

We’ll see you there!
