This chapter suggests that the concept of montage is central to the development of a new understanding of the role of the museum object. Not only does the transportation and preservation of objects cause a montage of otherwise parted worlds, but the continuous reactivation of museum objects also accumulates an increasing potentiality within the object. Thus, the object is continuously recreated, becoming part of new orchestrations of atmosphere through an infinite potential of montages.
