PhD Project
My PhD project is one of 10 projects which together make up the HORIZON Marie Skłodowska Curie Action (MSCA) Doctoral Network ArCHe. Project DC3: "Anchor points in a fluid world: Stone Age hunter-fisher-gatherer sites in the coastal zone and their social, economic and communicative significance", aims to investigate and re-evaluate Mesolithic (c.9500-3800 cal BC) hunter-gather-fisher communities in three discrete areas of Atlantic Europe, South Eastern Norway, Northern Spain and Western France. The project will examine existing data from new perspectives to enhance our current understanding of these distinctive communities and to re-evaluate their significance. Key to this analysis is the location of Mesolithic sites in the coastal zone and the inextricable relationship their inhabitants had with the coastal environment in which they lived.
