John Lindgren's contribution

In March 2025, doctor Maria Kartveit visited Mamen's third son, John Lindgren in Cambridge together with Mamen's grandson Thor Mamen. In the photograph, John reveals documentation supplementing the Mamen collection in Norway, such as a letter stating Roald Amundsen offered Mamen a place on his South Pole Expedition. Because Amundsen did not grant him a place on the actual skiing expidition, Mamen turned down the offer and travelled to Mongolia.
