Trap for hunting partridge

(UEM12193) Rev. Bodding’s notes: 'The procedure for using this trap is the following: At places where these birds are seen to bath in sand, grain or other foods are distributed to habituate them to come there. The trap is set by hammering the attached sticks into the ground while the net is held down with the help of a thin twig. Just in front, at a distance equaling the hight of the trap, a wooden hook is knocked into the ground, and the long rope is led under the hook. The trapper sits at a distance, behind a bush, with the end of the rope. When a sufficient number of birds have gathered, he pulls down the trap. The inserted sticks hold the net down so the birds cannot escape.' Material: Wood, vegetable fibre. Height: 58 cm, width: 70 cm.
