Gokstad revitalised is a cooperative project between three organisations with professional responsibilities towards the Gokstad monument.

The Museum of Cultural History

The Museum of Cultural History is one of the two university museums at the University of Oslo. It was established in 1999, when Oldsaksamlingen (The Antiquarian Collection) with the Viking Ship Museum was joined with Myntkabinettet (The Collection of Coins) and Etnografisk museum (Ethnographic Museum). Through Oldsaksamlingen the museum has the oldest and most extensive archaeological collections in Norway, and today it is responsible for excavations in and finds from southern and eastern Norway. The museum has a permanent staff of around 120, and a large number of temporary staff.

Kulturarv Vestfold

Kulturarv Vestfold og Telemark fylkeskommune is the cultural heritage unit in Vestfold and Telemark County Municipality and is responsible for archaeological registrations and for protected buildings, monuments and sites in Vestfold. It has a permanent staff of around 18.

Vestfoldmuseene

Vestfoldmuseene is a cooperative institution owned by the town municipalities and the county municipality in Vestfold and is responsible for the museums in the county. The organisation has a permanent staff of around 60.
